Lenovo launches Legion R9000P laptop with world's first inkjet‑printed OLED screen

Lenovo unveiled the Legion R9000P, a gaming notebook that features a 16‑inch OLED display produced by TCL CSOT using inkjet‑printed (IJP) technology. The panel delivers a 240 Hz refresh rate, over 99% DCI‑P3 colour gamut and a Real RGB Stripe sub‑pixel layout that improves text clarity compared with traditional triangular OLED arrangements.

The IJP process replaces the costly vacuum thermal evaporation method, reportedly cutting OLED production costs by 20‑30% and boosting material utilisation from about 30% to nearly 90%. TCL CSOT has moved this technology into mass production, signalling broader availability of cheaper OLED screens for laptops and potentially other devices. Lenovo has not disclosed the notebook’s processor, GPU, memory or pricing, nor an exact release date; the product is expected to appear later in 2026, with no confirmed launch in Brazil.

Industry observers note that the combination of high‑refresh gaming performance and a more economical OLED could accelerate adoption of OLED panels across consumer electronics, pressuring competitors such as Samsung and LG to explore similar manufacturing methods.
