Leo Messi Foundation donates €2.6 million to pediatric cancer center

The Leo Messi Foundation has donated €2.6 million to help fund the construction of the SJD Pediatric Cancer Center Barcelona. This contribution, made alongside the Stavros Niarchos Foundation, helped complete the total investment required for the project, which cost approximately €30 million.

The 5,137-square-meter facility is part of the Sant Joan de Déu Hospital and is designed to provide specialized care for children and adolescents with cancer. By concentrating diagnostic, treatment, research, and family support services in a single location, the center aims to improve the patient experience and avoid the need for frequent transfers between different hospital installations.

The center is expected to serve approximately 400 pediatric patients per year, offering specialized clinical trials and treatments in an environment specifically tailored to young patients.
