Leo Sauer faces special Champions League match against Slovan Bratislava
VfB Stuttgart attacker Leo Sauer is set for a significant Champions League match against Slovan Bratislava. The match holds personal importance for the Slovakian player, who was born in Bratislava and developed in the Slovan Bratislava youth academy before moving to MSK Zilina and eventually Feyenoord.
Sauer joined Stuttgart from Feyenoord for 15 million euros during the summer transfer window. His time in Germany has been hampered by a muscle injury that caused him to miss the entire pre-season. Since returning, he has appeared as a substitute in several Bundesliga matches and briefly played in a Champions League victory against Viking FK.
Stuttgart manager Sebastian Hoeness has praised Sauer’s talent, noting that he “has already shown his potential at Feyenoord” and is making a good impression in Germany. Sauer expressed excitement for the upcoming fixture, stating, “That will be a special match, a real experience. My whole family will be in the stadium.”
