Leo Seara chases J1 scoring record after 11th goal
Kashima Antlers forward Leo Seara has reached 11 goals in the J1 League following a decisive header in a match against Gamba Osaka on October 9. The 31-year-old Brazilian striker scored the opening goal in the final minutes of the first half, winning a physical duel in the penalty area to secure the point for his team.
Seara is currently leading the league's scoring charts. Based on his current performance rate of approximately 1.25 goals per match, he is on pace to potentially reach 48 goals this season. If he maintains this momentum, he could break the long-standing J1 single-season scoring record of 36 goals set by Masashi Nakayama in 1998. To achieve this record, Seara must maintain a scoring rate of 0.9 goals per match for the remainder of the season.
