Leo Suárez joins Boston River after Pumas UNAM departure
Argentine forward Leo Suárez has officially signed with Uruguayan club Boston River following his departure from Pumas UNAM. The 30-year-old attacker joins the Uruguayan Primera División side as a free agent after his contract with the Mexican club was rescinded.
Suárez’s tenure at Pumas was marked by a significant knee injury, specifically a torn anterior cruciate ligament, which hindered his playing time. Following his recovery, he was relegated to training with the Under-21 squad and was ultimately excluded from the first team's tactical plans.
Before his time in Mexico, Suárez played for Club América, where he was part of the squad that won the Apertura 2023 title, and Santos Laguna. His move to Boston River provides a fresh start after a period of inactivity following a loan spell at Estudiantes de La Plata.
