Leo Suárez reaches agreement to join Uruguay's Boston River

Argentine winger Leo Suárez has reportedly reached a verbal agreement to join the Uruguayan club Boston River. The 30-year-old player becomes a free agent following his departure from Pumas UNAM in Mexico.

Suárez is expected to travel to Uruguay next week to finalize a contract that will initially run for one year, with the possibility of renewal based on performance. His departure from Pumas follows a period where he saw reduced playing time under coach Efraín Juárez and a recovery from a significant knee injury.

Suárez leaves Mexican football after six years, during which he played for Club América, Santos Laguna, and Pumas. His tenure in Mexico included winning the Apertura 2023 title with América. His career has also included stints at clubs such as Villarreal, Mallorca, and Boca Juniors.
