Leon Bailey joins Olympiacos from Aston Villa
Olympiacos has officially completed the signing of Jamaican international winger Leon Bailey from Aston Villa. The 29-year-old attacker has signed a contract through June 2030, following successful medical examinations.
The transfer, reportedly valued at approximately €5 million, follows Bailey's recent period of limited playing time in the Premier League and a loan spell at Roma. Bailey brings significant European experience, having previously played for Bayer Leverkusen and Genk, and was part of the Aston Villa squad that won the UEFA Europa League in the 2025-2026 season.
Upon arriving in Athens, Bailey expressed his enthusiasm for the move and the atmosphere at the Georgios Karaiskakis Stadium. He noted that Olympiacos president Vangelis Marinakis has set the winning of the Europa League as a primary goal, an ambition Bailey shares given his previous success in the competition.
