Leon Bridges releases new collaborative album ‘Happiness Anytime’

Texan singer-songwriter Leon Bridges has released his new album, ‘Happiness Anytime’. The project is a collaborative effort produced with J Lloyd-Watson and Lydia Kotto of the British trio Jungle.

The album marks an artistic evolution for Bridges, moving from traditional soul structures toward expansive, danceable grooves and contemporary soundscapes. Influences cited include the sounds of Fela Kuti, Paul Simon’s ‘The Rhythm of the Saints’, and Jorge Ben. Tracks such as ‘Illusion’ incorporate bossa nova elements, while ‘Watch You Dance’ utilizes a pulsing bass to create an abstract, rhythmic atmosphere.

Bridges stated that his goal with the album was to create music that provides lightness and movement, helping listeners release the tensions of modern life. He recently performed a medley of tracks, including ‘Talk It Over’, ‘Light The Way’, and ‘Illusion’, on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
