Leon Jakirović named to Inter Milan senior squad

Eighteen-year-old Croatian defender Leon Jakirović has earned his first call-up to the Inter Milan senior squad. The former Dinamo Zagreb player was included as a substitute for the Serie A match against Fiorentina at the San Siro.

Jakirović joined Inter earlier this year in a transfer valued at approximately 8.2 million euros. Since his arrival, he has been playing for the club's U23 side in Serie C, where he established himself as a regular starter and recorded his first professional assist.

His inclusion in the senior matchday squad comes as Inter faces injury concerns in the center-back position. Jakirović, the son of former Dinamo coach Sergej Jakirović, was part of the bench alongside fellow Croatian international Petar Sučić during Inter's 2-1 comeback victory over Fiorentina.
