Leonardo Aquino outlines management plans for Internacional presidency
Leonardo Aquino, a candidate for the presidency of Internacional, has announced that he has already secured a professional to manage the club’s market operations should he be elected. Aquino noted that his financial planning includes specific strategies for both Série A and Série B, acknowledging that the club’s budget and contractual obligations would vary significantly depending on which division the team competes in by 2027.
As part of his campaign, Aquino traveled to Rio de Janeiro to meet with key figures in Brazilian football management. He held discussions with Eduardo Bandeira de Mello, former president of Flamengo, regarding financial recovery and administrative reorganization. Additionally, Aquino met with Rodrigo Caetano, the general executive coordinator of the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) men’s national teams, to discuss sports management, youth academy development, and the integration of youth players into professional squads.
The election for the presidency of Internacional is scheduled for December 12, with Aquino facing two other competitors, Roberto Melo and José Amarante. None of the members from the current administration are running for the position.
