Italian art exhibitions draw high interest in Potenza, Mantua, and Bologna

Several major art exhibitions are drawing significant attention across Italy. In Potenza, the exhibition ‘Caravaggio. Narciso, il mito di un capolavoro’ has seen a surge in popularity, with over 22,000 reservation requests recorded shortly after its opening. The display features the work ‘Narciso’, on loan from the Galleria nazionale di arte antica di Palazzo Barberini, and is available at the Museo archeologico provinciale di Potenza until November 30.

In Mantua, Fondazione Palazzo Te is hosting ‘Inventare la natura. Leonardo, Arcimboldo, Caravaggio’. This exhibition explores the relationship between the natural world and artistic production during the 16th century, featuring works by Leonardo, Arcimboldo, and the Carracci family, alongside scientific instruments and automata.

Additionally, Bologna is hosting ‘Le macchine di Leonardo da Vinci. Genio e innovazione’ at Palazzo Pallavicini. The exhibition showcases approximately thirty reconstructed wooden models of Leonardo’s engineering designs, including early concepts for helicopters, parachutes, and gliders, based on his historical codices.
