Leonardo DRS to Acquire Mission Software Firm Raft for $450 Million

Leonardo DRS announced an all‑cash agreement to purchase Raft LLC, a Virginia‑based provider of open‑architecture mission software that uses artificial intelligence to fuse data from multiple domains. The $450 million deal is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2026, subject to regulatory approval. Leonardo DRS says the acquisition will expand its software‑driven mission capabilities and complement its existing sensing and computing portfolio. The company anticipates a tax benefit of about $50 million over the next 15 years and expects the transaction to be accretive to adjusted diluted earnings per share in the first full year. Financial advisers are Morgan Stanley & Co. for Leonardo DRS and J.P. Morgan Securities for Raft. John Baylouny, president and CEO of Leonardo DRS, noted that Raft adds proven software talent, while Raft founder Shubhi Mishra highlighted the fit of the open‑architecture platform with DRS’s franchises.
