Leonardo establishes industrial presence in Ukraine

Italian defense and aerospace company Leonardo has established a local presence in Ukraine through the creation of Leonardo Ukraine LLC. Based in Kyiv, the new entity is 100% indirectly controlled by the group via Leonardo International.

The company's primary focus will be on research and development, specifically targeting unmanned systems, artificial intelligence, electronic warfare, sensors, and low-cost air defense. This move is intended to allow Leonardo to integrate directly into Ukraine's technological and industrial ecosystem, facilitating partnerships and the testing of joint development and production programs.

This strategic expansion aligns with a broader shift in how European defense is viewed, as Ukraine's industrial base moves toward integration into the European defense and technological framework.
