Leonardo Pavoletti begins training to become a sports director
Former Cagliari captain Leonardo Pavoletti has been admitted to a FIGC technical sector course to train as a sports director. Following the expiration of his contract with the Sardinian club on June 30, the striker is transitioning into a managerial role within Italian football.
The training program consists of 144 total hours, including 64 hours of online lessons and 80 hours of in-person instruction at Coverciano. To obtain his qualification, which would allow him to work across all levels of Italian football from Serie A to lower divisions, Pavoletti must complete the course and pass a final exam and thesis defense.
Other notable participants admitted to the course include former Cagliari player Niccolò Giannetti, Monastir sports director Matteo Zanda, and former striker Erjon Bogdani.
