Leonardo Rojas Cruz sentenced to 3 years for drug trafficking

Leonardo Rojas Cruz, a 53-year-old Mexican national, was sentenced to three years in prison on September 30 in a Seattle U.S. District Court. The sentence follows a drug trafficking conspiracy that targeted unhoused individuals in Seattle’s International District and the “The Jungle” area under Interstate-5.

Following a wiretap investigation, Rojas Cruz was indicted in May 2025 for his role as a redistributor of cocaine and methamphetamine. Law enforcement actions related to the investigation included the execution of 16 search warrants across several locations, including Federal Way, Seattle, and parts of California and Oregon. These searches yielded over seven kilograms of cocaine, 18 kilograms of methamphetamine, more than 57,000 fentanyl pills, 17 firearms, and over $353,000 in cash.

Acting U.S. Attorney Neil Floyd noted that in March 2025 alone, investigations into this and related drug rings led to the seizure of narcotics with a street value of nearly $3 million, including 111 kilos of cocaine and 250,000 fentanyl pills.
