Leonberg develops Burghaldenquartier residential district

In Leonberg, Germany, a+r Architekten and Auer Weber have completed the initial phase of the Burghaldenquartier development. The project, located at the Sonnenkreuzung intersection, repurposes the former headquarters site of Kreissparkasse Böblingen.

a+r Architekten designed four residential buildings comprising 71 rental apartments, approximately one-quarter of which are social housing units. The development is designed to follow the local topography and integrate with the existing urban landscape of the Engelberg residential area and the Leonberg old town. The site also includes a new headquarters building for Kreissparkasse designed by Auer Weber.
