Leones del Caracas rejects Jesús Guzmán's ceremonial return

The management of the Leones del Caracas has ruled out a ceremonial return for veteran player Jesús Guzmán in the Venezuelan Professional Baseball League (LVBP). Despite fan expectations for the former Major Leaguer to receive a symbolic one-day contract to reach his 600th career hit while wearing the team's uniform, the organization has prioritized sports planning over emotional tributes.

Robinson Chirinos, the team's sports manager, confirmed that while the possibility was evaluated internally, the club does not foresee Guzmán taking an at-bat with the team during the current season. Guzmán remains a significant figure in the franchise's history, notably holding the record for most RBIs in a single LVBP season with 67 during the 2008-2009 campaign.
