Leones del Escogido strengthens bullpen for LIDOM season

Leones del Escogido has announced key additions to its bullpen as the team prepares to defend its title in the 2026-27 LIDOM season. The Dominican club confirmed the retention of left-hander Lael Lockhart and the signing of right-hander Brett de Geus.

Lockhart, 28, was a standout performer last season, posting a 2.57 ERA with 17 strikeouts in 21 innings. He spent the recent summer playing in the Detroit Tigers and Seattle Mariners minor league systems. General Manager Carlos Peña expressed confidence in Lockhart’s ability to contribute to the pitching staff once again.

De Geus, also 28, joins the team following a high-level season with the Toros de Tijuana in the Mexican League. This marks his first appearance in a Caribbean league.
