Leonidio hosts “Fragments” international art exhibition

The “Fragments” exhibition is being held at the Avgo Avgo Art Space in Leonidio, Greece. Curated by Loukia Richards and Christoph Ziegler, the event features twenty-seven international artists exploring how ancient myths continue to reflect modern human expectations and anxieties.

The exhibition utilizes diverse media, including jewelry, textiles, photography, digital collage, and objects. Additionally, the showcase pays tribute to the history of Leonidio and its pioneering merchant class through a collection of historical photographs taken between 1880 and 1920 in Greece, Egypt, Constantinople, and the United States.

The art space is located in the former residence of Antonios G. Lekos, a merchant and the first mayor of Leonidio, who built the mansion in 1865. The exhibition is scheduled to be open to the public on August 22 and 23, 2026.
