Leopard captured in Mandi after killing 70 sheep

A leopard that had been terrorizing the Nasloh area near Mandi, Himachal Pradesh, has been captured by the Forest Department. The animal had been active in the region since July, causing significant distress to local residents and livestock owners.

According to local reports, the leopard killed approximately 70 sheep over the past two months, resulting in economic losses for villagers. The predator's presence in areas such as Nasloh, Rao, Chauki Bhaled, Dhanog, and Tung created a climate of fear, making it difficult for residents to leave their homes at night.

Following demands from the community, the Forest Department deployed a cage to trap the animal. The capture has brought relief to the local population, though some villagers have requested that the department continue using traps in the area for a period to ensure continued safety.
