Leopard suspected of killing livestock near Mettur

In Mettur, the Forest Department is working to trap a leopard suspected of attacking livestock in Kannamoochi village. Reports indicate that more than 10 goats, two calves, and several dogs have died. Officials believe the animal may have migrated from the Erode Forest Reserve into local farmlands due to a lack of sufficient prey within the forest.

To manage the situation, authorities have installed monitoring cameras and set up cages at five different locations around the village to track and capture the animal. Forest officials are maintaining surveillance to prevent further attacks on livestock.
