Leorda hosts successful animal sterilization campaign

A local animal sterilization campaign in the Leorda commune exceeded expectations, resulting in the free sterilization of 115 animals on Saturday, September 26. The group included 78 dogs and 37 cats.

Organized by the ADOR Botoșani Association in partnership with the Leorda Town Hall and supported by the Animal Protection Bureau of the Botoșani County Police Inspectorate, the event utilized the DariusVet Praxis mobile hospital from Rupea, Brașov.

Funding for the initiative was provided by animal lovers in Germany, partly through Projekt YLVIE and via individual fundraising efforts aimed at supporting dogs in Romania. The campaign focused on preventing animal abandonment through proactive measures. Participants traveled from various locations, including Dolina, Mitoc, Costinești, and several other villages in the Botoșani region.
