Leova water station maintains supply despite Prut River drought
In Moldova, the water intake station at Leova continues to supply 11 localities despite significantly low water levels in the Prut River caused by hydrological drought. Environment Minister Gheorghe Hajder announced that additional pumps were installed last week to allow the system to capture water from greater depths, ensuring a continuous supply even as river levels drop.
Authorities are monitoring the river's flow and the station's technical parameters constantly. While some rain is forecasted, officials noted it is unlikely to replenish the water reserves depleted during the recent months of drought.
