Chery Group’s upmarket brand, Lepas, has announced the Australian pricing for its first model, the L6 BEV Signature mid-size electric SUV. The vehicle will start at $47,990 before on-road costs.

Built on the dedicated LEX platform, the L6 features a 65kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery providing a claimed range of 440km on the WLTP cycle. The single-motor powertrain delivers 160kW and 275Nm of torque. Charging capabilities include a 30 to 80 per cent battery recharge in 22 minutes using a 120kW DC charger.

Interior features include a 13.2-inch infotainment touchscreen, an 8.88-inch digital instrument display, a Sony eight-speaker sound system, and both wired and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The vehicle also includes a panoramic sunroof and advanced driver assistance systems.

Order books are currently open, with the first customer deliveries expected in November 2026. Lepas aims to establish 40 sales sites in Australia by the end of 2026. A plug-in hybrid (PHEV) version of the L6 is also expected to arrive in 2027.
