Lepas launches in Spain with L8 Super Hybrid SUV, targeting premium market
Chinese automaker Chery introduced its new Lepas brand to the Spanish market, unveiling the L8 Super Hybrid SUV as the marque's first model. The vehicle combines a 1.5 L turbo engine with an 18.4 kWh LFP battery, delivering 279 hp, 365 Nm of torque, an electric‑only range of about 90 km and a total combined range exceeding 1,100 km. It accelerates from 0‑100 km/h in 7.9 seconds and is offered at €33,990 for the Essence trim and €36,490 for the Elegance trim, inclusive of 0 % financing, Auto+ incentives and a seven‑year or 150,000‑km warranty (eight years for the battery).
Lepas aims to position itself as a premium, lifestyle‑focused brand, rolling out a dedicated dealer network of roughly 50 showrooms across Spain. Showrooms feature sleek architecture, glass façades, lounge areas and digital configurators, reinforcing the brand’s “Drive Your Elegance” slogan. The launch follows Chery’s earlier introductions of Omoda, Jaecoo and the locally produced Ebro brand, expanding its presence in the Spanish automotive market.
