LEPAS premium automotive brand launches in Romania via MATEROM

The Romanian company MATEROM has officially launched the Chinese premium automotive brand LEPAS in Romania, opening the country's first showroom in Sibiu. The facility is noted as the largest LEPAS showroom in Europe.

The brand, which belongs to the Chery Group, debuted its L8 model, a 279 HP plug-in hybrid SUV featuring a design concept described as ‘Leopard Aesthetics’. Following the L8, the brand plans to introduce the L6 and L4 models in the coming months.

MATEROM, founded in 1998 by Ioan Matei and Rodica Baciu, transitioned from auto parts distribution to becoming the exclusive importer for the new brand. Rodica Baciu, co-founder and General Director of LEPAS Romania, noted that the expansion follows strategic visits to the Chery manufacturing facilities in Wuhu, China.
