Lerone Murphy returns to training after first UFC loss
English UFC featherweight Lerone Murphy is returning to training following his first professional defeat against Movsar Evloev at UFC London. The majority decision loss at The O2 arena ended Murphy’s 18-fight unbeaten streak.
During the five-round main event, Evloev received a point deduction in the fourth round for repeated low blows. While two judges scored the bout 48-46 for Evloev, a third judge scored it 47-47. Murphy has reviewed the footage and believes the contest should have resulted in a draw, asserting that he won the second and third rounds.
In addition to the loss, Murphy suffered a torn hip flexor during the fight. The 35-year-old fighter stated that the setback has “kicked him into gear,” prompting a more serious approach to his career as he aims for a title goal in 2026.
