The animal shelter association Les 4 Pattes au pays des 4 lacs is prioritizing roof repairs to increase its capacity for managing stray cat populations. The association has signed a new agreement with local authorities to trap 30 cats by the end of December, a move intended to address a significant increase in the local stray population.

Marjorie Gauthier, president of the association, noted that the number of known stray cats in Langres has grown significantly since the shelter was forced to close in 2023. The association faces financial challenges due to extensive roof damage, with repair estimates reaching 45,000 euros due to the presence of fibrocement. While an artisan has offered to perform work for 15,000 euros, the association is still seeking additional support to complete the necessary renovations.
