Les Amis de Noé 34 rescues 250 hens from slaughterhouse
The volunteer association Les Amis de Noé 34 has rescued 250 brown hens from a slaughterhouse in Poussan, Hérault. The 18-month-old birds, which were raised in an organic farm, are currently being housed at the association's refuge to undergo a rehabilitation process.
During their stay at the refuge, the hens receive necessary medical care, regain strength, and are socialized through contact with volunteers to prepare them for life with new families. The association is seeking responsible adopters throughout the month of October.
Prospective owners must meet specific requirements, including adopting at least two hens and providing a secure, shaded outdoor space with a clean coop to protect against predators. The association provides guidance on coop installation, nutrition, and daily care to assist new owners.
