Les Corts rejects Vox immigration proposal, approves PP housing plan

The Valencian regional parliament, Les Corts, has rejected a Vox proposal regarding immigration. The initiative sought to have the Consell declare the ‘gravity’ of consequences stemming from ‘massive immigration’ on public services. It also called for the Spanish government to repatriate illegal immigrants and suggested linking healthcare access to legal residency, while maintaining emergency care. The proposal failed after the People's Party (PP) abstained following a disagreement over amendments.

In contrast, the parliament approved a housing initiative presented by the PP, which included an amendment from Vox regarding the implementation of a ‘national priority’ principle. This approved text urges the Consell to increase the construction of public protected housing and calls on the Spanish central government to mobilize public land to address the imbalance between supply and demand, particularly to assist youth and vulnerable populations.
