Les Éditions du Soleil launches with Sidy Diop book

Les Éditions du Soleil, a new publishing house established by the national daily newspaper Le Soleil, was officially launched on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, at the Musée des civilisations noires in Dakar.

The inaugural publication is ‘Dabakh, la pédagogie de la bonté’ by journalist Sidy Diop. The 244-page book explores the life and values of Cheikh Abdou Aziz Sy Dabakh, the former general khalife of the Tidiane brotherhood. Diop, who is also a trainer at the Centre d’études des sciences et techniques de l’information (CESTI), aims to highlight the subject's principles of kindness, humility, and faith rather than producing a traditional hagiography.

The launch ceremony was attended by various government and religious authorities, as well as many followers.
