Leskovac and Vranje libraries host cultural heritage exhibitions

The Radoje Domanović National Library in Leskovac, in collaboration with the Bora Stanković Public Library in Vranje, hosted a cultural program titled ‘Roots and Wings: From Local Stories to Shared Culture’. This event is part of the ‘Serbia Capital of Culture 2026’ initiative.

The program featured two primary exhibitions. The first, ‘In Search of the Human Soul’, was created by Tomislav and Miroslava Simonović. It utilizes the Simonović family archives to present photographs, documents, and writings that detail the life and work of Borisav Bora Stanković, a prominent Serbian realist writer marking his 150th birth anniversary.

The second exhibition, ‘Vranje Urban Song as an Element of Intangible Cultural Heritage’, focuses on the musical traditions of Vranje, which has been recognized as part of the UNESCO Creative Cities Network. The event included musical performances by vocalist Branimir Stosic Kace and emphasized the importance of inter-library cooperation in preserving regional heritage.
