Lesotho launches national CSIRT and cybersecurity forum to boost digital security
On 29 July 2026 the government of Lesotho inaugurated the LesCom Computer Security Incident Response Team (CSIRT) and the country's first National Cybersecurity Forum. The launch, led by the Ministry of Information, Communications, Science, Technology and Innovation and Minister Nthati Moorosi, is intended to improve detection, analysis and response to cyber threats, promote information sharing among public and private sectors, and support the nation’s digital transformation agenda. Officials said the initiative will help secure digital payment systems, attract investment and build a trusted digital economy, addressing Lesotho’s low ranking (Tier 4) in the ITU Global Cybersecurity Index.
