Lesvos hosts 77th Panhellenic Scouts of Greece meeting

The 77th Panhellenic Meeting of Distinguished Forest Diploma holders of the Scouts of Greece took place on Lesvos on September 26 and 27. This marks the first time in the institution's nearly 80-year history that the event has been hosted on the island.

Approximately 200 adult leaders from Greece and Cyprus participated in the gathering. The program focused on communication and cooperation among educational staff, and included the awarding of the Distinguished Forest Diploma to new volunteers, certifying the completion of their scout training.

Activities were held in Mytilene, specifically at the northern perimeter of the Upper Castle, and included a ‘Great Good Deed’ at Milena Kontou Square, where participants engaged in painting, maintenance, and cleaning to improve the public space. The event also featured educational visits to the fossil parks and the Lesvos Fossilized Forest Natural History Museum in Sigri.
