Leszek Miller calls for accountability on aid to Ukraine

Former Polish Prime Minister Leszek Miller has called for greater accountability regarding the financial and military aid provided to Ukraine. Speaking on the ‘Jankowski Kontra’ podcast, Miller emphasized that Poland should receive detailed reports on how billions of euros and significant military hardware, including hundreds of tanks, have been utilized.

Miller suggested that there is widespread awareness regarding the potential misappropriation of funds in Ukraine. He stated that while Poland should continue to support Ukraine for now, aid should be reconsidered if the country does not receive formal reports on the use of its assistance. He noted that Poland has obligations to its own citizens and cannot distribute resources without oversight.

Addressing the geopolitical implications of the conflict, Miller countered arguments that a Ukrainian defeat would lead to a direct, unstable border with Russia, noting that Poland already shares a border with Russia which he characterized as ‘very calm.’ Additionally, he expressed the view that young Ukrainians should return to their country to participate in its defense.
