Anastazja Kuś faces criticism over social media and competition exclusion

Polish track and field athlete Anastazja Kuś is facing scrutiny regarding her social media presence and professional conduct. The 19-year-old world junior champion has been criticized by fellow athletes and journalists for focusing heavily on her image and modeling on platforms like Instagram. Critics, including Anna Kiełbasińska and Aleksander Dzięciołowski, have suggested her online activity may be superficial or inappropriate for a professional athlete.

Kuś has defended her actions, stating, “I have the right to do what I want in life,” and asserting that she promotes a modern model of athleticism.

Additionally, tension has arisen regarding her exclusion from the Kamila Skolimowska Memorial. While organizers, including Marcin Rosengarten, stated that priority was given to Diamond League athletes, Kuś expressed disappointment, suggesting that her manager’s ties to other athletes may have influenced the decision. Jakub Szymański noted that some peer resentment may stem from her early success and high-level support system.
