Leszek Miller slams Polish journalists and politicians in heated Ukraine dispute

Former prime minister Leszek Miller used social‑media posts to denounce journalist Justyna Dobrosz‑Oracz, calling her a “propagandist of banderowic TVP”. He accused her of suggesting his shift from supporting to criticizing Ukrainian authorities was suspicious and warned that his earlier warnings about “banderisation” of Ukraine had been ignored.

Miller also targeted Civic Coalition MP Paweł Kowal, labeling him an “odrażający eksponent banderyzmu w Polsce” (repulsive exponent of banderism in Poland). He defended his own record, recalling that during his 2001‑2004 premiership extensive exhumations of Polish victims of the Volhynian massacres were carried out, with joint Polish‑Ukrainian ceremonies. Miller contrasted this with the current Ukrainian leadership, claiming it promotes a “banderist” narrative.

Both posts sparked a media backlash, with Dobrosz‑Oracz and Kowal demanding Miller substantiate his claims about his past actions and the handling of historical memory.
