Letam Kine, former Rivers security chief, killed by gunmen in Khana, Nigeria

Former Chief Security Officer of Khana Local Government Area, Letam Kine, was shot dead by unidentified gunmen on Saturday evening around 6 p.m. on Polytechnic Road in Bori, Rivers State. Police confirmed the killing, recovered the body and opened a full investigation to identify and apprehend the perpetrators. Local government chairman Dr. Thomas Bariere condemned the attack as senseless, urged intensified security operations, and called on residents to remain vigilant and cooperate with investigators. The murder follows a series of recent violent incidents in the area, including the killings of Clement Deegbara and other security officials, raising concerns about armed criminal gangs operating in the region.
