Lethbridge teen charged in connection with 764 terrorist network
A 17-year-old from Lethbridge, Alberta, has been charged with multiple offences including participating in the activities of a terrorist group, facilitating terrorist activity, and distributing child sexual abuse material. The teenager also faces charges of animal cruelty.
The investigation was launched after the Lethbridge Police Service alerted the RCMP’s Integrated National Security Enforcement Team regarding the youth’s involvement with the 764 network via Discord. The 764 network was added to Canada’s list of terrorist entities in December 2025. It is described as a transnational online ecosystem of predators that uses social media and gaming platforms—such as Roblox, Minecraft, and Telegram—to recruit and radicalize children through propaganda promoting violence, self-harm, and nihilism.
This arrest follows previous Canadian investigations linked to the same network, including arrests in Quebec City and Edmonton. Due to the suspect's age, the Youth Criminal Justice Act prevents the release of identifying information. The accused is scheduled to appear in a Lethbridge courtroom on October 14.
