Leticia Rosino killer moves to Vitoria following release
The individual responsible for the 2018 rape and murder of 32-year-old Leticia Rosino in Castrogonzalo, Zamora, has been released and has chosen to reside in Vitoria. The perpetrator, who was 16 at the time of the crime, served an eight-year sentence, which is the maximum allowed under Spain's Juvenile Justice Law.
Reports indicate that the individual has already violated several terms of his supervised release, including disappearing for several weeks and failing to attend court appointments. While he is prohibited from returning to the municipality where the crime occurred or to Tábara, he is required to undergo sexual education and therapeutic programs during a five-year period of supervised liberty.
The victim's family has expressed profound distress over the lack of communication regarding his release. In response to the case, the Leticia Rosino Foundation has gathered over 130,000 signatures to petition the Spanish Congress for tougher juvenile justice laws, arguing that punishments should be more proportionate to the severity of the crimes committed.
