Let's Run Park Yeongcheon to begin operations on September 11

Let's Run Park Yeongcheon, South Korea's fourth horse racing park, is scheduled to begin operations on September 11. Following its selection as a candidate site in 2009, the facility has been completed after 17 years of development.

Joining existing parks in Gwacheon, Jeju, and Busan-Gyeongnam, the Yeongcheon site introduces a ‘regional circuit racing’ model. Under this system, racehorses stationed in Busan-Gyeongnam will travel to Yeongcheon for scheduled races. To support horse welfare during transport, the Korea Racing Authority has deployed 13 specialized vibration-free vehicles equipped with GPS tracking and climate control.

The complex is designed as a multi-purpose leisure destination, featuring a 3,500-capacity grandstand with a traditional Hanok-inspired design and an eco-friendly waterfront park for picnics and walks. An official opening ceremony will be held on September 13, featuring special races and celebratory performances.

Local authorities expect the park to serve as a new growth engine for the regional economy by creating jobs and attracting tourists. The project coincides with regional infrastructure improvements, including extensions to the Daegu Metro Line 1 and new highway interchanges.
