Lety u Prahy school installs container pavilion to combat overcrowding

The LetMo primary school in Lety u Prahy has implemented a temporary solution to address overcrowding by installing a container pavilion. The structure consists of fifteen modules and provides two classrooms for 36 students in the sixth and seventh grades, along with teacher facilities, changing rooms, and restrooms.

Local Mayor Barbora Tesařová noted that while the pavilion is a functional space, it is a temporary measure. The municipality faces significant financial hurdles for a permanent expansion; a planned extension for 540 students is estimated to cost over 400 million CZK, a figure unattainable for a municipality with an annual budget of approximately 40 million CZK without significant subsidies.

The school currently operates at near capacity with 200 students. Due to the lack of space, some classes, such as 5. B, have had to utilize the local library for lessons.
