Leudal municipality proposes €2 million for starter home loans

The Leudal municipal executive has proposed an additional €2 million budget to the city council to provide more starter home loans. This request aims to ensure financial support remains available for first-time homebuyers through 2028, as high demand has caused the current budget to be depleted faster than anticipated.

Through September, 42 starter loans had been issued with 12 applications pending, doubling the total from the previous year. The municipality provides these loans in partnership with the Province of Limburg. Each loan, which can be used for homes up to €345,000, is capped at €56,000, with the municipality and province each covering half the cost. The proposed €2 million investment would result in a total €4 million injection into the local housing market, potentially assisting approximately 75 starters.
