Levallois-Perret synagogue robbed, dozen Torah scrolls stolen

During the night of 26–27 July 2026, the ACCIL synagogue in Levallois‑Perret, a suburb of Paris, was broken into. Two intruders disabled the alarm and cameras, entered the building and stole about a dozen Sefer Torah scrolls. The incident was condemned as a severe anti‑semitic act by community leader Philippe Cohen and the town mayor, who called for a swift investigation. Police have begun forensic examinations, interviewed witnesses, and reviewed video footage; a vehicle possibly linked to the crime has been identified. Specialized demining services were called in to ensure the premises were safe while investigators continue their search for the missing scrolls and the perpetrators.
