Levante UD honors Virgin of the Desamparados and eyes defensive reinforcements
The men's and women's squads of Levante UD gathered at the Basilica of the Virgin of the Desamparados for the club's traditional floral offering, a pre‑season ceremony in Valencia. President Pablo Sánchez thanked the patron for the previous season's joys and challenges, while Vice‑President Braulio Pastor asked for continued support for the "granota" family. Players, technical staff and club officials, including chaplains José Luis Sánchez and José Gerónimo Tébar, placed a floral tribute on the altar and posed for the customary family photograph.
During the same event, Sánchez warned that the transfer market could be active at any moment, stating that Levante is prepared for possible departures and is actively seeking to strengthen the central defence. He emphasized the need to add at least one central defender and affirmed that the squad is already well‑formed.
The ceremony highlighted the club's cultural ties to Valencia and set the tone for the upcoming season, combining tradition with a clear focus on squad reinforcement.
