LEVEL-5 announces Holy Horror Mansion for 2027 release

LEVEL-5 has revealed new details regarding its upcoming role-playing game, Holy Horror Mansion, which is scheduled for release in 2027 on PlayStation 5, PC via Steam, and Nintendo Switch 2.

The game features a unique mechanic called ‘Playgroundification,’ where players use a camera to photograph objects with strong souls, transforming them into supernatural creatures known as Mononoke. These creatures can become allies. Additionally, the environment is highly interactive; objects can change function, such as a hedge becoming a path or an umbrella acting as a trampoline. Some objects, like a cake, can even be transformed into dungeons for exploration.

Set in a town where the atmosphere shifts at night, the story follows a young protagonist living in a mansion above his grandmother's apartment. Players will encounter boss battles and face an evil entity called De Ville Corp. A playable demo is expected to be available at the Tokyo Game Show 2026.
