Levica party criticizes land sale in Aerodrom Municipality
The Levica political party has raised concerns regarding the sale of attractive land in the Aerodrom Municipality of Skopje. According to a party statement, the company ‘Adora’ is acquiring more than 23,000 square meters of land located on the Vardar river quay, near the Russia and Hilton hotels.
The land is reportedly being sold at a price of approximately 46 euros per square meter, totaling over 66 million denars (about one million euros). Levica highlighted a significant disparity in real estate costs, noting that while citizens pay up to 2,500 euros per square meter for residential space, large investors receive much lower rates.
The planned development includes approximately 20,000 square meters of construction, with 40 percent of the space designated for commercial use, such as hotels and assembly facilities. The party questioned whether the sale was necessitated by an empty municipal treasury and demanded transparency regarding how the approximately 400,000 euros in proceeds will be utilized.
