Levski coach Julio Velasquez hails team spirit after derby win over CSKA
Ahead of the 16 May "eternal derby" at Vasil Levski Stadium, Levski Sofia manager Julio Velasquez said he was satisfied with the squad and saw no need for further signings. He also addressed striker Mustafa Sangare’s recovery from a serious injury, noting the forward was still limited and could not play a full 90 minutes.
After Levski defeated CSKA in the 2025/26 season finale, Velasquez put himself and star Everton Balla in the background, stressing that the victory stemmed from the players’ attitude and collective effort. He praised the team’s fair‑play, saying, "We won with incredible attitude and effort," and reiterated that the club had already secured the league title.
Key remarks included: "All the players had an excellent season" and an emphasis on teamwork over individual accolades.
