Levski Sofia clinches Bulgarian league title and eyes Champions League prep in Pravets

Levski Sofia ended a 17‑year drought by winning the Bulgarian First League, securing the club’s first championship since 2009. The triumph was achieved under Spanish coach Julio Velazquez, who praised the squad’s discipline and intensity and spoke of the “blue” emotion of the victory. Velazquez said the team will now focus on the upcoming Champions League qualifiers, planning a summer training camp in the town of Pravets, the venue where he ran the previous season’s pre‑season.

The club’s management confirmed that striker Mustafa Sanga, 27, will remain on contract until 2027, and that plans are under way for a new stadium as ownership changes. Levski’s aim is to progress beyond the first qualifying round and, if successful, to reach the group stage of Europe’s premier competition.
