Levski Sofia director Georgi Kostadinov criticizes Bulgarian refereeing
Georgi Kostadinov, the sports director of Levski Sofia, has expressed strong dissatisfaction with the quality of refereeing in Bulgaria. Following a 1:0 victory against Dunav, Kostadinov highlighted a series of perceived officiating errors in recent matches, specifically citing games against Cherno More, Arda, and CSKA during the Supercup.
Kostadinov claimed there was a 100% penalty in Varna, a missed red card for Arda, and a missed red card during the Supercup. He stated that while the club has shown patience, they will no longer tolerate frequent errors that appear to occur in one direction. He called for more objective officiating and urged referees to remain calm under pressure to avoid wasting energy on controversies.
Regarding the match against Dunav, Kostadinov noted the difficult playing conditions due to recent rain in Ruse but praised the team for executing their tactical plan and noted the importance of Mustafa Sangare's contribution following his recovery from injury.
